Conservation
As a scientist and engineer, I believe it's our responsibility to use our skills not just to advance human interests but to protect and restore our environment. My conviction is that we are guests in the natural world, and polite guests shouldn't make a mess of the place when they're invited somewhere. These beliefs pushed me to work with conservation organizations on tech-intensive projects that aim to counterbalance human impact, using our tools and knowledge to restore and protect the environment.
